KUCHING: The blame culture practised by Pakatan Harapan is their biggest drawback whilst it also hinders their progress, said Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women’s wing.

The people are fed-up with their many U-turns and unfulfilled promises, said the party Women chief Datuk Seri Doris Brodie (pic) when commenting on the

performance of PH which was celebrating its first anniversary helming the federal government on Thursday.

“One year today since PH became the federal government it has brought nothing significantly beneficial to the rakyat. In fact, the rakyat at large are feeling the pinch from the high cost of living and the flip-flop administration of the PH government,” she added.

Brodie said in Sarawak, the people look forward to the PH government to fulfil its promise to return Sarawak’s autonomy as per their election manifesto.

The new Malaysia under the PH government is not people-centric, she said, adding the rakyat at large were feeling frustrated, suppressed and burdened by their indecision.

Brodie said among others, the value of the ringgit had also dropped tremendously since May 9 last year, from RM3.94 for 1USD to RM4.067 for 1USD as per February this year.

“Subsidy for fertiliser for hill padi/huma was also chopped off from RM70 million in 2018 to nil this year.

“Likewise, the Monsoon Season Aid Payment/grant amounting to RM42 million was only extended to 70,000 rubber smallholders in Sabah but not in Sarawak. This is seen as a selective assistance and perhaps has a hidden motive, too,” she added.

Brodie said perhaps it is about time that PH government brings about positive changes, adding Malaysia Baru should have constructive and solid content; after all we have a very experienced prime minister at the driver’s seat.
