SIMANGGANG: The generous contributions from the community in Sri Aman have enabled the Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman Moral Uplifting Organisation to provide assistance to those in need through its annual Sejambak Kasih programme.

Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis expressed his gratitude to the community for their donations, emphasising that “without these kind-hearted individuals, we might not be able to organise programmes like this during every festive season.”

This year, the programme distributed food baskets to 250 recipients. During the same event, he presented a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM20,000 to the Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman Moral Uplifting Organisation.

Additionally, RM5,000 each was allocated to the organisation’s youth and women’s wings, and RM20,000 was awarded to the Simanggang Soon Heng Society.

The event was attended by Sri Aman District Council walikota Anthony Abell Chendan; Sri Aman Division Temenggong, Kueh Aik Seng (who also serves as the chairman of the Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman Moral Uplifting Organisation); and Simanggang Soon Heng Society chairman Tay Chiew Hua.
