German biz delegates visit S’wak Diversity Centre

KUCHING: A German business delegation led by its Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Michael Kellner visited the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre here today.

The delegation arrived at the centre at about 12.30 pm after visiting the Borneo Cultural Museum in the morning.

Sarawak Biodiversity Centre’s staff welcomed them and provided them with a quick briefing upon their arrival.

A news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) said that they were also given insights about protected floras that can be found in Sarawak.

After the tour session, Kellner and the delegation were then taken to the Lecture Theatre Hall to listen to a presentation on Investment Opportunities in Sarawak presented by the head of the Social Development and Performance Management Division of the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit, Mildred Voon Hian Ya.

They then carried on with their tour of the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre immediately after that.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Azmi Bujang and chief executive officer of Sarawak Forestry Corporation, Zolkipli Mohamad Aton.
