Good governance of paramount importance: STIDC

KUCHING: Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) Corporate Governance Day 2023 is aimed at raising awareness on the importance of good governance besides promoting transparency, accountability and integrity.

STIDC General Manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah said apart from that, the programme also serves as a reminder to everyone to build a more responsible, accountable and transparent society to gain trust and confidence from stakeholders.

He added that to ensure good corporate governance, STIDC strives to strengthen the five pillars of governance including Accountability, Compliance, Transparency, Leadership and Risk Management.

“Good governance is vital to ensuring long-term corporate excellence and economic growth for mutual benefit,” he said during the said programme at Waterfront Hotel today (Aug 29).

He said four topics were discussed during the programme that focused on empowering and strengthening corporate governance.
