DEBAK: In addition to focusing on repairing or rebuilding dilapidated schools, the government also needs to provide digital facilities complete with good Internet connection to ensure the smooth development of education in rural areas.

According to Saribas assemblyman Mohd Razi Sitam, developing education in the rural parts of Sarawak requires a lot of determination.

“The relevant ministries should work together to resolve this issue to ensure the smooth development of education in rural areas.

“Society will be left behind if focus is not given on providing good digital facilities,” he said in a recent event.

Therefore, he said the Sarawak government’s efforts to improve telecommunication networks in rural areas as stated in the 2022 State Budget are welcomed.

“We (the people) are very much looking forward to its implementation,” he said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the event, Razi described parent-teacher associations (PTAs) as very important in helping the school to develop the personality and development of children.
