MUKAH: The Community Fitness Programme held every Wednesday at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja in Mukah has received encouraging support from the local residents.

Assistant Youth and Sports Officer of Mukah Division, Mohammad Arbi Rosli, said the last session of the programme was held yesterday.

“This programme consisted of 12 sessions starting from September 13, and Alhamdulillah, the community’s response has been very encouraging throughout its duration, with an estimated participation ranging from 50 to 80 individuals and sometimes reaching 100 people per session,” he said yesterday (Dec 7).

Further elaborating, he said it was organised by the Youth and Sports Office of Mukah in collaboration with Youth Club Tunas Rencana, Karisma Boulevard and the Arenas Seberang Recreational Sports Club.

The  funding was contributed by the Mukah Service Centre and fully supported by Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib.

“For the upcoming year, if we receive funding from the local representatives, we plan to organise it again after the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“This is because, in the two years of its implementation, we have received positive feedback from the community,” he added.

Arbi explained that the objective of this Community Fitness Programme was to cultivate an active lifestyle among the Mukah community.

“Additionally, it aims to establish a healthy lifestyle culture as we want the community here to be healthy, leading to better work productivity.

“Through this programme, we can strengthen social bonds and foster good relationships among the people,” he added.

Arbi hoped that the programme could be held continuously  in the future to shape a vibrant and healthy community in Mukah through exercises.
