KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has ‘suitors’ among parties outside Sarawak seeking to work with it as the 15th General Election (GE15) looms.

In revealing this, GPS chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg described the coalition as a beautiful lady who is courted after attracting attention of other political parties.

However, he said the coalition has not been decided by the GPS as of now.

Bila you kacak, memang semua orang maok. Ada tapi kita nanga lah… Nya kedak begerek belum diputuskan. Nya bergerek ajak, tunang sikda. (When you are beautiful, everyone wants you. We are still in courtship, there is no decision being made yet).

“Kita nangga lah sebab bukan bertunang tapi bertunang pun boleh putus juak. (We will see about it first but even an engaged couple can break up),” he said without revealing which parties are the suitors.

He said this during a press conference after the GPS meeting at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters today.

Following this, he said the coalition will be coming up with its own manifesto given that this is the first parliamentary polls faced by the GPS.

“In actuality, GPS is all geared up to face this GE. We have established committees to carry out our duties in all angles,” he said.
