KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi’s appointment as a member of the special advisory body to the Minister of Finance will be advantageous to both the federal and the state governments.

Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said this was because the expertise and experience of Abdul Hamed would benefit both parties.

“I believe it will be a win-win situation,” he was quoted as saying in a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

Abang Abdul Karim also noted that the appointment of the Sarawak corporate figure was welcomed by the people of Sarawak.

“I believe the Prime Minister feels they need someone from this sector to be one of his advisers. Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed also has extensive experience, so I believe it is good for Sarawak,” he said.

Abdul Hamed Sepawi is among five individuals appointed to be members of the special advisory body to Finance Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
