MIRI: The increased allocation for Community Drumming Programme or better known as price uniformity programme from RM150 million to RM200 million for Sarawak and Sabah in 2021 Budget will help ease the burden of rural consumers.

Assistant Minister for Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Rosey Yunus described 2021 Budget as a comprehensive budget for the Rakyat.

“The increased allocation for the programme showed that the government wanted to ensure that no one from these two states is left behind,” she said on Saturday (Nov 7).

She was confident that the initiative would benefit people in the rural.

Through this initiative, 1.1 million people will have access to basic goods such as rice, sugar, flour, cooking oil, LPG gas, RON 95 petrol and diesel at regulated prices.

The programme will be broadened to 34 rural areas such as in Pulau Sakar in Sabah and Ulu Mujok in Sarawak.
