KUCHING: A woman who was alone at home was rescued in the nick of time by firemen this morning as fire ravaged her home in Kampung Hulu 2, Serian.
Maznah Abdullah Liam Mail managed to get out to safety without sustaining any injuries during the 4.54 am incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from the Serian fire station were deployed to the scene about 4km away.
By the time the firemen arrived at her home, the fire was at its height. However, they managed to stop the flames from spreading to neighbouring homes.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred have yet to be ascertained.
The firefighters ended their operation at 6.06 am.
