Police photo shows the crime scene where human skeletal remains were found in the bushes in Sibujaya.

SIBU: The human skeletal remains of a John Doe, was found in the bushes along Jalan Kristal, Sibu Jaya yesterday morning (Apr 21).

It was understood that the unsettling discovery was made by a 39-year-old man, who happened to pass by the area and found objects believed to be skeletons.

When contacted by New Sarawak Tribune, Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed that the man later informed the police pertaining to the finding around 10.10am.

A police team was deployed to the scene and they cordoned off the area to conduct their investigation.

“No identification documents were found at the scene.

“Preliminary investigation found that the skeletons are that of a shirtless man who wore blue jeans.

“The decomposed body is believed to have been dead for more than a month,” he said, adding that the remains are taken to Sibu Hospital for further action.

Zulkipli said the case is still being investigated and it is classified as sudden death.
