iCATS signs MOU with preschools

KUCHING: iCATS University College has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with several preschools to place practicum students in their Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree programmes in Early Care and Childhood Education (ECCE).

The preschools involved in the program are SeDidik Sdn Bhd, Taska Cahaya Horizons Taska Pondok Ilmu, Tadika Intan Syuhada, and Tadika Cilik Cemerlang.

Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, the Minister of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development, attended the MOU signing on June 14th and stated that the primary objective of the programme is to contribute to the state government’s mission of acquiring highly qualified teachers in the field of early childhood education.

Fatimah stressed the importance of selecting candidates with appropriate training and emphasised the need for practical exposure to the world of early childhood education.

She also highlighted the crucial role of mentors within these preschools and their significance in providing essential guidance and support.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shahren Ahmad Zaidi Adruce at i-CATS stated that their Early Care and Childhood Education programs are designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical experience to succeed in the field of early childhood education.

The strengthened collaboration with renowned childcare centres and kindergartens will bring significant benefits to students, educators, and the children under their care.
