KUCHING: A project management agreement (PMA) was inked between the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), the Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC), and Borneo Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (BDC) for the construction of the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC).

According to its statement, the signed PMA outlines the commitment of the three parties to work together to expedite construction of the SIDC in anticipation of its expected operation by the end of 2024.

“Although the formalisation of the agreement was done today, clearing of the land had commenced a year ago at the site located next to the Sarawak Heart Centre in Samarahan,” the statement said.

The agreement was signed by Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn; BDC chairman Datuk Peter Nansian; and SRDC general manager Dr Peter Morin Nissom at the MEITD office yesterday.

It was witnessed by the ministry’s permanent secretary Datuk Kameri Affandi, and BDC general manager Nor-E-Fadzwie Salleh.
