Jagoi Trail Run 2024 attracts 300 top runners

BAU: Jagoi Trail Run 2024 slated for this Saturday (March 9) is gearing up to welcome 300 elite runners from 11 countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Ireland, USA, India, South Africa and UK.

The event, organised by the Alpha Sport Event (ASE) and sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, will see Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Jinep flagging off the run at 7am.

The starting line is set at Dewan Serasot in Kampung Jagoi Serasot, along Jalan Bau/Stass, Bau, a scenic location just over 20 kilometres away from Kuching City.

Runners will traverse the hilly views and countryside in Jagoi, Bau area including oil palm plantation and beautiful mountain view.

The route will also pass through various villages including Kampung Jagoi Plaman Bouw, Kampung Jagoi Sebobok, Kampung Jagoi Serikin, Kampung Plaman Jagoi, Kampung Jagoi Duyoh, Kampung Jagoi Sri’eng, Kampung Skibang, and Kampung Stass.

The races will feature 6KM, 20KM, 50KM and 70km categories.

Ahead of the event, a special coordination discussion session was held yesterday (Mar 6) to fine-tune event management strategies and streamline field operations.

The meeting was chaired by the Bau District Officer, with representatives from various organisations including organiser ASE, along with the Jagoi Area Development Committee (JADC), Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), and the Bau District Council.
