KUCHING: Junior Chamber International (JCI) members are urged to contribute positively to society regardless of recognition as it approaches its prestigious 2024 JCI Malaysia Ten Outstanding Malaysians (TOYM) award ceremony on Sept 21 in Kuala Lumpur.

In stating this, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has called on JCI’s team to use their roles to help the society and urge JCI to steward their responsibilities well.

“Any recognition is good, so whenever you contribute and it is recognised, recognition is recognition and it will not end there.

“You need to use what you’ve been recognised to contribute more in order for people to join your team,” he said today (Mar 22).

In a related matter, Wee said as a ‘rakyat’ (citizen), the public need to remember that it is their responsibility to take ownership to contribute positively to the country.

“There must be a sense of belonging, don’t always think of something in return.
