SERIAN: A running participant of the Silabur Ultra Trail died after collapsing during his run in Kampung Lubang Batu on yesterday (Mar 19).
Serian district police chief DSP Aswandy Anis when contacted, said the victim was identified as 56-year-old Joseph Tay Wee How from Johor.
“Investigation found that Tay had collapsed after he was about 3km into the run.
“The victim was taken to Serian Hospital and was later pronounced dead by the medical officer,” he said.
Investigation found that there were no signs of foul play and a post-mortem will be conducted.
Aswandy stated that the case was classified as sudden death.
