MIRI: A two-day festive extravaganza, Craft for Christmas, will take place at MYY Mall Lutong here from Dec 16 to 17.

This event promises to be a delightful celebration of the holiday season, featuring a wide array of activities for all ages, aimed at raising funds to cover for the operation cost for the invaluable services provided by Wishesland Miri.

Chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of Landik, Mandy Chen said Craft for Christmas will feature a diverse range of activities for all ages, including multiple craft workshops, children’s colouring and costume contests, a scavenger hunt, mini games, board game tournaments, an instant photo booth, and a Christmas market hosting over 35 vendors.

“This two-day celebration is designed to engage the community while contributing to a noble cause. The primary objective of Craft for Christmas is to raise RM50,000 to support the operational costs of Wishesland Miri,” she said.

Wishesland Miri is a non-profit organisation founded on Dec 21, 2020 and registered with Registrar of Societies by a group of parents and volunteers with a passionate heart of care and love towards giving hope to families of cerebral palsy children.

As of Oct 31, this year, Wishesland Miri has 55 members of which 35 are children with cerebral palsy.

Wishesland Miri aims to unite all the cerebral palsy children and adults as well as their family members under one organisation to strengthen their coordination, and, to be a one-stop centre for seeking information, counselling, rehabilitation, and treatment support for all cerebral palsy children and adults.

Various programmes have been lined up such as Early Intervention Programmes, including physiotherapy, massages, speech therapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, DDS, music therapy, nutrition programmes, neuro feedback programme to name a few.

Therefore, Wishesland Miri urgently needs funding for staffing, administration works, therapists, cerebral palsy rehabilitation equipment and others.

Thus, Chen urged “in the spirit of giving, Craft for Christmas encourages everyone to come together, have fun, and make a positive impact on the community.”

“Join us at MYY Mall Miri on Dec 16 and 17 for a festive celebration that goes beyond the joy of the season—making a difference in the lives of those in need,” she said.
