MIRI: In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya and Gawai Dayak celebration, the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) on Tuesday (May 11) distributed sponge roll cakes filled with chocolate and peanut butter to 90 of its members.
NSJA ‘s president Andy Jong Wan Joon said, “This is our appreciation to NSJA members who continue their duties as frontliners in disseminating information to the people during Covid-19.”
He added media practitioners played a crucial role in disseminating information on Covid-19 to the public, instilling and strengthening awareness about the virus.
Jong also said this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri would be celebrated in accordance with the new normal due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We need to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) by not holding any open house to curb the spread of the virus,” he added.
Jong also called on the community to work together to break the Covid-19 infection chain.
