SIBU: Thirteen enforcement officers of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu underwent a rigorous three-day course on riding and operating high-powered motorcycles.

Conducted from Jan 30 to Feb 1, the course, led by Sarawak Motorcycle Enforcement Unit chief Zooraini Aini and his team, is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of enforcement personnel.

During the course inauguration, Sibu JPJ chief Mohamad Faizal David Jemat stressed the importance of equipping enforcement members with the skills necessary to handle Kawasaki Versys 650 and X250 motorcycles effectively.

“The training would empower members to become backup personnel for the unit, with potential absorption into the unit through duty rotation.

“Advanced courses to continually enhance UPB members’ skills will be held from time to time,” he said in his speech yesterday (Jan 30).

He also highlighted the commitment to ongoing skill development, revealing plans for advanced courses to further refine the expertise of UPB members.

The training included convoy riding, adherence to road rules, VIP and special escort training, exposure to escort standard operating procedures (SOP), and theoretical and practical sessions.
