BALINGIAN: The launch of the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Night Market (JSM) here is proving to be a significant economic boost for residents.
Abdul Yakub Arbi highlighted that over 10 stalls have commenced operations at the Balingian Night Market since Aug 4.
“The night market committee has requested support from the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation, and we are also arranging for temporary facilities.
“An allocation of RM1.5mil has been designated for relocating public toilets as part of Phase Two of the embankment project,” said the Balingian assemblyman.
“We will consider the opinions of the public during the project implementation to enhance the infrastructure according to their needs,” he added, during the inauguration of the JSM Night Market recently.
Abdul Yakub stressed that Balingian has undergone transformations and witnessed numerous developmental initiatives.
He commended Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his effective leadership in generating income for Sarawakians and advancing the state’s development.
“He has demonstrated wisdom in identifying opportunities to boost income for rural residents. Consequently, we must support the government that has fostered Sarawak’s growth.
“Here, we can witness all the representatives engaging actively to serve the community without getting entangled in politics in Peninsular Malaysia,” he noted.
He added that the government’s planning is methodical, taking into consideration the population and the needs of the people.
