SARATOK: The state government has approved the construction of the Hulu Perpat Resource Centre.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said it was one of the projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) in his constituency this year.

“We have identified a suitable site in Kampung Hulu Perpat for it. The work scope and matters related to the project have been discussed together with the implementing agency as well as the community leaders and tribal leaders (KMKK).

“When it is ready, it will become a knowledge reference centre that can be used by everyone in the area,” he said yesterday, calling on the community to fully utilise all the facilities provided by the government.

“KMKK can organise scientific programmes from time to time and involve everyone so that the bond between one another can be strengthened further.

“That is why the government approved the residents’ request to build a resource centre considering the great benefits it will bring to the people when it is properly utilised,” he said.

On the Surau Al Muafiqin, Taman Seroja Indah project which was also approved for improvement through RTP this year, he stated that last year, electricity was already connected to the surau.

“Therefore, this year for the next phase, we will build a fence for it. There will be improvements from year to year to ensure the comfort of Muslims in fulfilling their obligations,” he said.

During the inspection of both the RTP projects he was represented by Deputy Head of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kalaka Branch Kasdi Pandi, and Secretary of PBB Kalaka Branch Gapor Ahmad.
