KUCHING: A total of 19 contestants from all ages participated in the Aram Berami Superstar Karaoke Competition at Kuching Court complex, here yesterday.

The competition, organised in conjunction with the Aram Berami carnival, was held to attract visitors to Kuching Court.

The competition which began at 2pm enticed the crowds with performances by all participants ranging from schoolchildren to retirees.

Mahathir Zailani won first place for the karaoke competition beating all the other 18 contestants, while the first and second runner ups were Yahya Drahman and Jeraiee B respectively.

Meanwhile, Ismadi Kipawi emerged as the winner for best performance.

The top three winners received a certificate and cash prizes while seven consolation prize winners each received a certificate and hamper which were presented by Sarawak Courts director and president of Kuching Court Recreational Club (KRMK) Nixon Kennedy Kumbong.

The programme also featured performances from personnel and staff of Kuching Court.
