RAUB: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah graced Fraser’s Hill centennial celebration at the Fraser’s Hill clock tower here Saturday night.

The Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah was also in attendance.

Also present were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Tourism, Environment and Plantations Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.

The event was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Fraser’s Hill from a mining area to a highland resort by Scottish adventurer and businessman Louis James Fraser in 1919.

Guests were also entertained by St John’s Johannians Pipes and Drums show and pantomime about the history of Fraser’s Hill, which featured actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan. – Bernama
