LAWAS: A king cobra was successfully captured after the sound of its hissing was heard emanating from beneath a washing machine in a house on Saturday.

Responding promptly to the distress call around 5 pm, firemen from the Lawas station swiftly deployed to the scene near Kampung Long Tuma, Jalan Gaya here to conduct a snake capturing operation.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed that the reptile had taken refuge underneath the washing machine in the kitchen.

The team successfully captured the 12-foot-long reptile and secured it in a black cloth bag.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team released the king cobra back into its natural habitat, away from the residential area.
