Kota Samarahan IPD gets new police chief

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD) has a new OCPD, ASP Rahfan Kipli, who replaces promoted DSP Lee Chong Chern.

He officially took over following a handover of duties ceremony at the headquarters here yesterday, witnessed by Sarawak Commissioner of Police (CP) Datuk Aidi Ismail.

DSP Lee, who has been transferred to the Seberang Perai Selatan District Police headquarters and promoted to Superintendent, will be reporting for duty on May 18.

“To all members of Kota Samarahan IPD, thank you for your cooperation and support throughout my time here. Your services and kindness will always be remembered,” he said in his farewell speech.

Meanwhile, Aidi, in his speech, thanked Lee for his services.

“Lee has carried out his duties and responsibilities with dedication and excellence, ensuring the safety and security of Kota Samarahan.” 

“The commitment he has shown is truly appreciated,” he added.

Aidi also told Kota Samarahan IPD personnel to continue giving such support to the new OCPD.

The event also saw the handover of duties between outgoing Kota Samarahan IPD Police Family Association chairperson Chai Yuk Leng and successor Normala Bakar.
