KUCHING: This city and the district as a whole is now a Covid-19 red zone.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said this came after 49 locally transmitted positive cases were detected within the past two weeks.

“Thirty-nine other districts remain green,” he said during SDMC’s press conference today.

The red code is attributed to areas with more than 40 cases; yellow for one to 40 cases, and green when there are no cases.

Uggah also announced that all entertainment centres and reflexology centres statewide will be temporarily closed from tomorrow (Oct 28) until further notice.

Currently, there are four active clusters in the state — Baki, Seladah and Bah Arnab (Kuching) and Putra (Bintulu).

There has been no new case in Seladah, Bah Arnab and Putra.

“However, 12 new positive cases were detected in Baki Cluster today, which brings the number of positive cases from this cluster to 25 including the index case.
