KUCHING: A landslide near Kampung Haji Baki along Jalan Batu Kitang damaged electrical cables around midnight on Friday.
The said incident caused power interruptions to consumers in Batu Kitang, Bau, Lundu, and Sematan.
Hence, Sarawak Energy immediately deployed its operations team to assess the impact of the landslide and successfully restored the power supply around 2am via an alternative circuit.
“The earth movement at the landslide site hampered the team’s progress for safe and quick restoration works.
“Thus, for over the next few days, the team will be working to lay cables bypassing at the site. We truly appreciate the kind understanding of our customers,” said the Sarawak Energy Regional Manager for Western Region Choo Min Chong.
