SRI AMAN: A longhouse here was damaged by a landslide, according to the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

Sri Aman Bomba said a call regarding the incident at Kampung Melugu Tengah was received at about 5.29pm on Friday (Nov 4).

Firefighters were dispatched to check on the situation, and the operations commander reported that the first, second and third bilik (longhouse unit) were affected.

One of the longhouse units took in water due to the landslide.

“The landslide caused some cracks on the wall of the toilet and bathroom of the second and third bilik. Water also poured in, damaging some items,” said Sri Aman Bomba. “There are 32 occupants in the longhouse, and all are safe.”

“Firefighters monitored the area and also advised the residents to evacuate their units if there is continuous rain for their own safety.”

Sri Aman Bomba added that the residents had been urged to call emergency services if there is any movement in the soil.
