KUCHING: Lea Sports Centre (LSC) has formed a collaboration with Chung Hua Middle School as an official partner for the 10th Malaysia Independent Chinese Secondary Schools Ball Games Championship.
This partnership was solidified during a sponsorship item handover ceremony at Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 here on Monday (Aug 21).
The prestigious championship, which is being hosted in Sarawak for the first time, is organised by several entities, including the Sarawak United Association of Chinese School Boards of Management, Kuching Chung Hua Middle School No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4, as well as The Sarawak United Association of Private Chinese Secondary School Management Board.
The sponsorship ceremony was attended by Alice Kho, senior manager of Lea Sports Centre; and Melati Melebeh, retail manager for Lea Sports Centre.
Representatives from Kuching Chung Hua Middle School, including Ong Ngok Shoon (supervisor) and Tay Ah Tai (treasurer), were also present, along with principals Lee Chee Peng, Yap Chong Guan, and Kon Shing Yong.
The tournament, featuring basketball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis, will be held from Aug 27 to 31.
This collaboration, said LSC, reflects their commitment to promoting athletic excellence and youth development, aligning with their focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among young athletes.
LSC’s sponsorship includes collared T-shirts for VIPs, roundneck T-shirts for student volunteers, and customised heat press printing for volunteers, teachers, and referee attire.
