SARIKEI: The cooperation between leaders and the people will facilitate the implementation of development plans in every area.

Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said that leaders should be familiar and connected with the people regardless of whether they are representatives or leaders at the village level, such as community chiefs and village chiefs.

“What can be seen is the cooperation and unity that exist among the local community in making any event successful, proving the strong relationship between the people and the leaders.

“This unity is something we need to uphold, and therefore we must utilise every opportunity available to strengthen the spirit of unity through various activities involving all ethnic groups,” he said.

He said this during the “Riang Ria Aidilfitri” with leaders at the community hall of Kampung Seberang Sarikei, here recently.

Meanwhile, Tanjong Manis MP, Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab said that indeed the unity and harmony among the community could be achieved through festive celebrations.
