Limbang to see straight fight

LIMBANG: It is a straight fight in Limbang with the incumbent Datuk Hasbi Habibollah to face off with Racha Balang who contested for PH-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in this coming 15th general election.

Hasbi arrived at Limbang Civic Centre yesterday morning at 8.49am to submit his nomination papers.

He was accompanied by his proposer, Bukit Kota assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang as his seconder.

Racha arrived 15 minutes earlier.

He was accompanied by his proposer, Brahim Matali and Jeffrey Kunjan as seconder.

At least 1,000 supporters from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and 100 supporters from PKR converged outside the Limbang Civic Centre yesterday morning giving their support to their respective candidate.

Limbang parliamentary constituency has a total of 41,999 registered voters.

In GE14, Hasbi who represented Barisan Nasional (BN) at that time won with 12,589 votes having recorded a majority of 7,710 votes.

He defeated the candidate from PKR namely Dr Ricardo Yampil Baba who only garnered 4,879 votes.
