SIBU: The Lions Club of Sibu Pahlawan contributed 91 school bags and stationery to the Tadika Methodist Children’s Home (TMCH) here yesterday.

At the presentation ceremony, the club’s president Malcolm Hii hoped the children will some day emulate them by serving and giving when they grow up.

Earlier, organising chairperson Tiong Chung Hia said this was a continuous event that each incoming president of the club had undertaken.
She expressed her gratitude to the past presidents and directors for donating the school bags and stationery.

“Since 2012, we have also been donating rations to seven single parent families monthly,” Tiong said.

Principal of TMCH Tang Soon Hua was thankful that the club members came to spread their love to the children and lead by example in showing the children the importance of helping the needy.

Also in attendance at the presentation ceremony were Past District Lions 308-A2 Governor Dato Betty Wong Yieng, Superintendent of Methodist Children’s Home, Lau Sie Tung and vice director of TMCH, Judy Wong.
