MUKAH: The supply of essential items in the local market is sufficient and at stable prices, said the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) authorities of the Mukah branch after conducting checks at business premises here today.

The enforcement operation was conducted in conjunction with the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP) for Deepavali 2020.

The Mukah branch stated that no cases were reported under Section 21 of the Price Control Act and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. All premises abided by the Written Notice/Confirmation of Price Information Notice properly during the check.

“The ministry also conducted a special check on the recovery movement control order (RMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as on essential items on the same day.

For SHMMP, business premises complied with the regulations such as displaying the pink-coloured price tags on controlled items, and not selling above the maximum price.

Business premises also complied with the RMCO SOPs whereas customers also adapted to the new normal.

The local ministry office enforcement personnel involved in the check were officers Chang Sing Ching, Betram Bill and Pele Perry Banging.
