MIRI: In preparation for the Miri Car Free Day, several roads including Jalan North Yu Seng, Jalan Merpati, and sections of Jalan Persekutuan, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Sylvia, and Jalan Parry, will be closed to vehicular traffic next Saturday (Jan 27), from 5.30 am to 10.00 am.
The Miri City Council (MCC) has advised motorists to anticipate these changes and plan alternate routes to reach their destinations.
Additionally, to assist drivers during this period, traffic wardens will be stationed, and traffic diversion signs will be placed around the affected areas.
Due to the expected influx of visitors and limited parking availability, the following parking locations have been designated for the event: Jalan Ansellia, Jalan Zinnia, Jalan Calliandra, Jalan Helenium, and Jalan Unus car parks.
The public is encouraged to participate in the Car Free Day programme, which will include a range of activities such as a light musical exercise session, a fun walk and lucky draws.
