LAWAS: Village leaders are urged to work together to make sure that everyone, aged 18 and above, in their respective villages, gets vaccinated to curb the spread of Covid-19, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

“Community leaders are the leaders closest to villagers and who have a better understanding of any issue that the rural people are facing,” Tengah, who is also Bukit Sari assemblyman, said during a visit to Trusan Sub-District Community Hall vaccination centre (PPV) today (June 24).

“Only by obtaining the vaccine will individuals be able to protect themselves, their families, and society as a whole,” he added.

Also present at the Trusan Sub-District Community Hall PPV were Deputy Minister of Rural Development II Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Limbang Resident Ahmad Denny Ahmad Fauzi, Lawas District Officer Ladin Atok and Lawas District Health Officer Dr Farida NazaHiya Mohd Salleh.

The Trusan Sub-District Community Hall PPV, which began operation on June 18, has inoculated about 2,800 first-dose recipients. The second dose will be administered from July 2 until July 6.
