Man found dead outside apartment

MIRI: A lifeless body was found near a compound of an apartment building, in Miri on Sunday (Apr 14).

Local police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed receiving a report on the discovery, saying that following the discovery around 5.35 am, a police team rushed to the scene.

“The man’s body has been identified as a local aged 46, lying in front of the yard of the apartment where the deceased lived,” Alexson said in a statement yesterday (Apr 15).

He said no foul play was detected, adding there were no visible injuries.

“The officers meticulously combed through the area, searching for any signs of foul play, but their efforts yielded no conclusive evidence pointing towards a criminal act,” he said.

The victim worked as a food technology officer in the city.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Miri Hospital.

The case is being classified as sudden death.
