MUKAH: A retailer lost RM2,150 when a computer set he ordered online early this month never arrived.

The 32-year-old from Kampung Bunut here, who was attracted to an advertisement about the computer set posted on a Facebook page on Oct 1, made a deal with a man identified as Kua Sin Lee via WhatsApp.

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the victim had made two online money transactions into the suspect’s account.

He said that the victim’s first transaction was RM1,900. On Oct 6, the suspect requested him to transfer another RM250, saying that it was for the payment of insurance and delivery services, and telling him that the computer will arrive in four days.

“However, until Oct 11, the item has not arrived yet, and the victim also failed to contact the suspect. He later realised that he had been cheated and lodged a police report,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 12).
