KUCHING: A 58-year-old man was killed on the spot after he apparently jumped off from the fifth floor of a shopping complex here on Tuesday evening.
District police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said the police were alerted of the incident by security guards around 5pm.
A police team along with an ambulance from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) rushed to the scene following the alert.
“The team found the body lying on the road behind the complex. Medical examination found that the victim had died due to severe injuries to the head and legs,” he said in a statement.
Investigations revealed that the victim is believed to have jumped off from the fifth floor.
The body was taken to SGH for post mortem and police are still investigating the case, classified as sudden death.
