KUCHING: The manager of a bakery supply store has been ordered to maintain a peace bond for six months after his excessive joking led to him molesting a colleague.

Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi issued this order immediately after Mohd Fuad Hafidzan Jemadi, a 24-year-old from Kampung Bintawa Hilir, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

He allegedly committed the act against a 26-year-old woman in the pantry of a shop on Jalan Satok at around 10.55 am on March 10.

Zubaidah ordered the accused to maintain a peace bond for six months, with a guarantee of RM1,000 without a deposit, and he had to act as surety himself.

According to the facts of the case, when the victim was working in the pantry as a general worker at the store, the accused approached her and patted and squeezed her back without permission.

The victim recorded the accused’s act on her cell phone, and the video serves as evidence.

The victim then filed a police report for further action, leading to the arrest of the accused on July 5.

Furthermore, the victim admitted that the accused often harassed her by showing pornographic videos and engaging in inappropriate conversations.

In addition to that, the accused frequently joked about asking the victim to bring her undergarments and requested her to massage his body.

The prosecution of the case was handled by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang, while the accused was not represented by a lawyer.
