Rescuers about to hand over the victim's body to the police for further action.

MIRI: The body of a 29-year-old man was found on Friday, on the fourth day of a search operation.

A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said the body of Abdul Wadud Dayyan Sastri was found face down by the public around 2.30pm in the Pabong area.

He was reported missing after falling off his boat at Suai River on Tuesday (Jan 4),

On that day, Abdul Wadud was out with his 25-year-old brother to look for river lobsters along the Suai River adjacent to Rumah Ngumbang longhouse in Niah.

The victim fell overboard after the boat he was piloting struck a log while moving along the river.

His brother, who was sitting in the front of the boat, could not save him as the incident happened very fast.

Rescue agencies were then contacted for help. After being informed, firemen rushed to the scene to retrieve the body which was later taken to the search control post.
