Marudi police issue 17 traffic summonses

MARUDI: Police here have issued a total of 17 traffic summonses in an integrated operation on Saturday (Feb 5).

District crime prevention and community safety chief Insp Erwin Geoffry Ussan said the operation in conjunction with the Lunar New Year, was held from 10am to 3pm at four locations.

A roadblock was mounted at Jalan Beluru-Lapok where 65 cars and 15 motorcycles were inspected and 17 traffic summonses were issued.

A total of 12 individuals were checked after the operation was conducted around Long Lama town, Bakong town and Lapok town.

Erwin stated that the operation was held to detect and curb criminal cases in Marudi.

Throughout the operation, the team did not receive any public complaints.
