KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing hit out at timber companies for not following the traffic rules in Kapit.

Expressing his displeasure, Masing who is also the Transport Minister said a logging truck was seen at Jalan Sg. Antaroh, Kapit inspite of JKR prohibition for them not to use the road.

The photo of the truck was taken at end of last month. He said what annoyed him was that there was disregard for the law and the road was just being tarred. He urged the Forest Department, Land Transport Department (JPJ) and Police to be aware of what are going on.

“If we don’t stop this now, the road will be damaged in no time. I don’t take this blatant disregard for the laws lightly. Not only they do not follow the laws, they are a danger to road users,” he added.
