SERIAN: A midnight blaze caused damages to a residential house at Kampung Riih Daso near here early this morning.
A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said they received a distress call around 12.00am and deployed firemen from Serian station to the scene.
The firemen managed to extinguish the blaze and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses.
The flames caused about 40 per cent damages to the house. There were however no casualties or injuries as the tenants managed to get out to safety.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
