PADAWAN: Ties were strengthened between Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing residents and the Malaysian Armed Forces through the “Majlis Qurban ATM” programme here.
The programme was organised by the Army Field Command East (AFCE) with residents in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.

EFC commander Lt-Gen Datuk Wira Zamrose Mohd Zain presented a knife as a symbolic gesture to Maj Abdullah Salleh, who performed the ritual sacrifice yesterday.

He also toured the area comprising homestays and the Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing longhouse, accompanied by community leader Hussein Banyak and residents.

In his speech, Lt-Gen Zamrose mentioned that this was his second visit to the Bidayuh Muslim village.
“The programme aimed to strengthen the relationship between armed forces personnel and residents. We will continue to hold similar programmes with the people of Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing in the future,” he said.

“Through such programmes, the army will be able to promote a career in the military to the youths in the kampung.
