Minister presents aid in support of blood donation

MIRI: Minister for Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin handed over his donation in support of the joint blood donation campaign to be held tomorrow (Jan 7) in Lutong today.

Lee will officiate at the event, which starts at 9.30 am at MYY Mall shopping complex, Lutong.

Co-organising chairman and Inner Wheel Club, IWC Miri, president, Cecilia Sman and committee member Rosena Litah received the donation from Lee on behalf of the campaign co-organisers.

They were IWC Miri and Rotary Club of Miri Oil Town, in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Blood Donor Recruitment Committee and the Miri Hospital Blood Bank.

Lee, who is MRC advisor, said the donations consisting of 120 packs of face mask, hand sanitisers and specially designed wall calendar were part of his unwavering support to encourage more blood donors to support such campaigns.

The campaign is to restock the blood bank for use not only by Miri Hospital but other hospitals in Sarawak and Sabah.

Donors are invited to come and donate blood during the campaign to be held until 1 pm and the first 100 successful donors will receive goody bags.
