Ministry staff donate blood in Mukah Hospital

MUKAH: Nine staff members of Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Mukah branch donated blood at Mukah Hospital here last Monday (Aug 24).

The ministry’s Mukah branch head Salihin Den said the charitable activity was organised in conjunction with the National Merdeka Month 2021.

He added initially 14 came for the noble cause, but only nine were allowed to donate as the remaining five did not have enough blood to share.

According to him, it was also one of Mukah Division Maksak programmes, where the ministry was one of the members.

He revealed that he ministry’s enforcement officers were also considered as frontliners in terms of commerce and distribution sector.

“We are entrusted to ensure that every economic sector under the supervision of the ministry adhere to the Standard operating procedures (SOPs) of Act 342 during Covid-19 pandemic,” he said via WhatsApp on Wednesday (Aug 25).

Salihin added this is for the wellbeing of all the people and in line with the government effort in preventing Covid-19 infection.
