MIRI: The assessment bills for the year 2024 are now ready for payment, with Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang stressing the importance of timely settlement.

“Payment of assessment rates to the city council is crucial in our mission to build Miri City into a sustainable urban centre and provide high-quality, efficient services to all residents,” he said during the full council meeting on Tuesday (Jan 30).

He pointed out the Miri City Council’s commitment to delivering effective public services, aligning with Sarawak’s digital economy initiatives and the goal of excellent service provision.

“As such, we urge ratepayers to opt for e-billing and update their contact details with the Rating and Valuation Department to ensure prompt delivery of assessment notices.”

He further encouraged ratepayers to utilise online payment options available through S Pay Global apps, Service Sarawak website, and Pay Bills Malaysia website.

“The payment methods are at your fingertips to avoid the inconvenience of queueing at the counter.”

To further assist ratepayers, the Rating and Valuation Department will set up mobile counters at Emart Riam on Feb 3-4 and Emart Tudan on Feb 24-25 from 10am to 5pm.

“These mobile counters will facilitate property assessment enquiries and on-the-spot payments via Spay Global apps.”

Deputy mayor Cr Ariffin Mohammad was also in attendance at the meeting.
