MIRI: Mirians welcomed the appointments of Datuk Lee Kim Shin as a full minister and Datuk Sebastian Ting as an assistant minister in the new Sarawak Cabinet lineup. “It is right and fitting that our chief minister has appointed Datuk Lee Kim Shin to a full ministerial post,” said Miri Indian Association (MIA) chairman Karambir Singh.

His many years of service and proven track record ensure he will do a good job as Transport Minister, he opined. Karambir also lauded the appointment of Ting, saying, “He (Ting) is always very active on the ground and receives direct feedback from the public, and I am confident that with his grasp of grassroots information on tourism, arts and culture he will give valuable input in this field for the betterment of Sarawak.”

Karambir who is Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau branch secretary said, the chief minister’s decision was a big boost to SUPP overall and has been well-received by all party members. Sharing similar sentiments was Mohammad Hafidz Rohani, a young entrepreneur and Iana Corporation Sdn Bhd managing director.
