KUCHING: The federal Ministry of Education has assured that education issues in Sarawak will be addressed promptly.

Its minister Fadhlina Sidek said MOE will collaborate with the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) to understand the progress and other related educational challenges in the state.

She gave this assurance when receiving a courtesy call from the MEITD delegation, led by the minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, in Putrajaya recently.

The visit was to discuss current issues faced by schools in Sarawak, particularly regarding the shortage of teachers, lack of infrastructure and facilities, and programmes that have impacted the educational standards in Sarawak.

Also in the delegation were Deputy Ministers of MEITD, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee and Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, as well as the ministry’s permanent secretary Azmi Bujang and senior ministry officials.
