KUCHING: A Police Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched to defuse a mortar shell found in a drain at Kpg Sungai Bedil Besar near here, yesterday.
The mortar shell was found by a man while cutting grass in the area.
After the find, the man contacted the police and a police bomb disposal unit rushed to the scene.
The police then immediately sealed off the area.
A bomb disposal unit then defused the mortar shell before it was taken to Batu Kawa shooting range to be destroyed.
